We believe the basic understanding of technique comes from a solid jazz training. Our jazz staff comes from a variety of backgrounds that offer a well rounded approach, focusing on quality and proper execution. Jazz is a dance form that appeals to everyone because of its energy, variety and vitality. Classes will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Contemporary Dance Class Competiton

Contemporary

In this fast evolving world of contemporary fusion, a strong foundation in modern technique is pivotal for the development of a contemporary or modern dancer. Our classes provide such, as well as pushing them to explore creativity in their approach to movement. Contemporary dance pushes boundaries to previously learned techniques and styles. The intention is to break down patterns and habitual movement qualities and find newness and awareness of where the body naturally goes, and how it naturally moves. We will examine an array of styles from Modern-Contemporary to Contemporary-Pop/Fusion with an exploration of musicality, movement style, dynamic shifts, space, time, spinal mobility, movement initiation, physicality, floor work and partnering work.

Classes range from beginning to advanced for various ages. Competitive teams are also available for this genre.

Our JBT introductory class combines movement and rhythm from Jazz, Tap, and Ballet to expose your tiny dancer to the whole world of dance.

Breaking, also called breakdancing, is a style of street dance. Breaking consists of four kinds of movement: top rock, down rock, power moves, and freezes. Breaking is typically danced to hip hop, funk music, and especially breakbeats, although modern trends allow for much wider varieties of music along certain ranges of tempo and beat patterns. In this class, we will cover the foundational moves, grooves, and concepts of breakdancing. Students will learn Breakdancing’s four concepts of: Toprock, Footwork, Power, and Freeze. On top of learning these concepts, students will learn the foundations of handstands, freestyling, and acrobatic movement. We will focus on fun, foundation, and fitness to grow as better dancers!

My three children started to dance at MVP eleven years ago, and now my daughter is still taking classes here. MVP is there second home! The owner Patti is the most caring person you can ever meet. She understands how much time and money every family spends to support their kids, she tries her best to help every kid to reach their goal. We trust her! All the staff are very professional, they work very hard to make sure every class is valuable! Over the last 11 years we have created such beautiful memories at MVP, we will carry all the memories for the rest our lives!

My daughter loves the friends she has made at MVP Dance Elite. The competitive dance teams always place in the top of any completion they enter. The choreographers are some of the best in the city especially in hip-hop and more commercially viable formats. The staff is the best!

We’ve been a part of the MVP family for many years. What is most impressive about MVP is not only their commitment to providing their dancers with the highest level of instruction and coaching, but they are equally focused on life lessons and helping young people to become the best versions of themselves. They are always looking for opportunities to capitalize on teachable moments. Our daughter has grown just as much as a citizen as she has as a dancer/performer. We feel lucky to have found our way to MVP Dance Elite.

Since my daughter started dancing at MVP, it truly has become our 2nd home. She has been with the studio for over 12 years and we cannot imagine a better environment to learn and thrive. With the instruction of her talented teachers, she continues to study the technical basics but has also been able to go beyond, pushing herself in multiple styles and genres. And just as important, the support and camaraderie the students have amongst themselves. They are truly a family.

I’ve been trying to find the right words to express my praise for MVP. I could easily just say “this is the best place to dance, period.” but there is so much that goes into that sentiment. Both of my kids dance at MVP and within the first few months of each taking classes, you could see a difference in not only their skill level but their love for dance. If you are lucky enough to observe a class you know they come alive with the enthusiasm of the dancers and teachers. I’ve never seen kids work so hard and be having as much fun at the same time. The camaraderie of these kids is something I have not seen in all my years spectating. They support each other no matter what age or level they are. MVP has given my kids much more than a dance education. They’ve given them a second home.
