Competitive Teams.
Train Your Skills to the Max.

From ages, 7 – 18 dancers prepare pieces each season to compete at regional and national venues and conventions. Through this, they learn how to work as a team, also helping them to sharpen their technical skills, as they are constantly motivated to improve each time they perform through the adjudications they receive from the judges. We compete in the following genres: Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Open, Musical Theater, etc.

Dancers must audition to be a part of our competitive program. We host company auditions the summer before our competition season (typically end of June or mid-July). Decisions are released a few weeks after our audition date. If you are interested in MVP Companies and missed our audition date, please contact MVP at info@mvpdanceelite.com with your interest.

RAW

RAW is a pre-professional company integrated within our competition teams. This is a competitive and performing team that focuses on hip hop and contemporary fusion styles.

The approach to this team is crew-oriented however, this program also takes the dancers through developing a concept that culminates with a stage production in May/June each year.

COMPETITION

The Competitive Companies will perform at several dance competitions throughout the year, once their choreographed routines are ready to dazzle. At a competition, various studio companies compete with similar age and experience levels.

Each Company then performs in front of experts (a.k.a. “judges”) who will provide detailed feedback to the studio on how to improve the routine further. The judges will also rank the different dance performances to give a sense of how well each studio company is doing. Most importantly a competition offers a great opportunity to see some fantastic routines from other studios, be inspired, socialize, network, and meet other dancers.

CONVENTION

Dance conventions are like pop-up training opportunities for a weekend at various venues and provide back-to-back master-level dance instruction and choreography, as well as other classes. Often as well, conventions offer potential performance opportunities, dance industry discussions, and dance attire and merchandise sales. What do you do there? Dance more than you’ve ever danced before in a single weekend.

The convention class weekend typically starts on Saturday mornings and ends on Sundays around 4/5 pm. Classes will start anywhere from 7-9 am in the morning and last until early afternoon when the competition will go into the night. It is important to attend all convention classes, even if it isn’t your “usual style”. Conventions are an amazing opportunity to get training in all dance genres with some of the best choreographers and dancers in the industry. Take advantage of it!

My three children started to dance at MVP eleven years ago, and now my daughter is still taking classes here. MVP is there second home! The owner Patti is the most caring person you can ever meet. She understands how much time and money every family spends to support their kids, she tries her best to help every kid to reach their goal. We trust her! All the staff are very professional, they work very hard to make sure every class is valuable! Over the last 11 years we have created such beautiful memories at MVP, we will carry all the memories for the rest our lives!

My daughter loves the friends she has made at MVP Dance Elite. The competitive dance teams always place in the top of any completion they enter. The choreographers are some of the best in the city especially in hip-hop and more commercially viable formats. The staff is the best!

We’ve been a part of the MVP family for many years. What is most impressive about MVP is not only their commitment to providing their dancers with the highest level of instruction and coaching, but they are equally focused on life lessons and helping young people to become the best versions of themselves. They are always looking for opportunities to capitalize on teachable moments. Our daughter has grown just as much as a citizen as she has as a dancer/performer. We feel lucky to have found our way to MVP Dance Elite.

Since my daughter started dancing at MVP, it truly has become our 2nd home. She has been with the studio for over 12 years and we cannot imagine a better environment to learn and thrive. With the instruction of her talented teachers, she continues to study the technical basics but has also been able to go beyond, pushing herself in multiple styles and genres. And just as important, the support and camaraderie the students have amongst themselves. They are truly a family.

I’ve been trying to find the right words to express my praise for MVP. I could easily just say “this is the best place to dance, period.” but there is so much that goes into that sentiment. Both of my kids dance at MVP and within the first few months of each taking classes, you could see a difference in not only their skill level but their love for dance. If you are lucky enough to observe a class you know they come alive with the enthusiasm of the dancers and teachers. I’ve never seen kids work so hard and be having as much fun at the same time. The camaraderie of these kids is something I have not seen in all my years spectating. They support each other no matter what age or level they are. MVP has given my kids much more than a dance education. They’ve given them a second home.

Amazing teachers who are very skilled at what they do and a lovely, student/staff atmosphere. Highly recommend. Best well rounded studio in Oregon hands down!

I can not say enough positive words about MVP! I attended this studio as a student for 8 years, and the training I received here was instrumental in setting myself up for a successful career of dancing and instructing.
